Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available to stream video on demand. Chapter 2 of the multiversal escapades of Miles Morales is now available to rent and purchase on Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Amazon Prime Video, and ZEE5. Of these, only the Apple TV offers a premium Ultra HD variant with Dolby Atmos audio, though there is an option to buy for Rs. 490. The SD (Standard Definition) version costs Rs. 390, and both come with subtitles in multiple languages. This movie in youtube movies Rs. 590 for the SD version and Rs. Rs 820 for 1080p full-HD printing – No rental option on any platform.
If you want to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on demand, you have two options: Amazon Prime Video and Zee5. However, the price on Amazon Prime Video is not very consistent.
Both the SD and HD versions are listed at Rs. 399, which doesn’t make much sense, since consumers tend to opt for the higher quality — if they have the Internet bandwidth to support it, that is. Meanwhile, the version of the Z5 doesn’t mention which version you’ll get, but the Rs. 349 price tag and its target audience being Indian (regional price), I am sure it will be of HD quality. You can enjoy sound quality like in a cinema hall in 10 different languages on the platform. These languages are English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi and Gujarati.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Box Office Collections
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse dominated the box office, collecting $683.8 million (approx. Rs. 56,62 crores) globally and setting the highest grossing milestone for a Sony Pictures animation film. If the stats and reviews aren’t convincing enough, IGN has extracted the first 10 minutes of the film in isolation to give you a general feel for the film. In it, Miles Morales (Shamek Moore), now reunited with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), is transported into the multiverse and into the interdimensional web of the Spider-People to unravel a larger conspiracy. When hero Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) comes up with a dangerous option to save the multiverse, Miles rejects it, inciting an all-out war that involves him jumping across dimensions and Spider-Cat.
The Spot (Jason Schwartzman) appears to be the mysterious force behind the Doom of the Multiverse, due to his special abilities which allow him to open portals and travel. Other key players include Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Jake Johnson as the original Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Meanwhile, Karan Soni voices Pavith Prabhakar/Spider-Man India, whose universe Mumbaattan is rendered through a watercolor style that mimics old Indian comic books. There are a total of six main art styles in the film, as well as wacky doodle illustrations that add more personality.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is available now on VOD on YouTube Movies, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5. It is still running in select theaters across the country.
