India has spotted its first suspected case of mpox. This comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern just last. Now, health officials are on alert and worried about the virus possibly spreading in the country.
The Suspected Mpox Case
There’s a young male patient who recently traveled from place where mpox is spreading. He’s been labeled a suspected case. Right now, he’s in stable condition and isolated at a special hospital. Doctors are testing samples from him to check for the mpox virus.

Right now, the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) links back to clade I, which shows around a 10% mortality rate, affecting kids more critically.
